Targeted matchmaking to enhance the performance of French eco-companies through innovation, thanks to technological partnerships with public research and the use of laboratory tools/resources
In 2013, the PEXE received support from the DGCIS and ADEME to set up exchange spaces between public research institutes and environmental SMEs. PEXE worked to develop a short and effective meeting format to facilitate their connections, which gave rise to the Eco-Technological Meetings.
Since 2013, PEXE, in partnership with the Carnot Institutes Association, has organized national eco-technological meetings to foster partnerships between research laboratories and environmental companies: transfer of mature and innovative technologies and use of technical platforms for instrumentation or process testing.
Feedback shows that these meetings are highly appreciated by participants as they allow for high-quality exchanges between researchers, SMEs, institutional partners, financiers, and innovation stakeholders. In addition, all companies are pre-qualified, having identified a specific need beforehand for which they are seeking partners.
The short and efficient half-day format facilitates qualified matchmaking between innovative eco-SMEs and research laboratories, with great participant satisfaction.
Six meetings have been organized since 2013 in the fields of water, soil, waste, industrial ecology, biodiversity, and air.

In partnership with the PEXE networks and the ECOTECH competitiveness clusters, two new eco-technological meetings labeled COP21 will be organized this year in Paris:
- Water: sustainable resource management – June 18, 2015
- Coastal areas and climate change adaptation: risk management and eco-design of coastal developments – July 2, 2015
