DRIEETS
Overview
The Interdepartmental Regional Directorate for the Economy, Employment, Labour and Solidarity (DRIEETS) operates across Paris and the inner suburbs, working on a wide range of topics:
-
Labour policy and labour inspection
-
Monitoring the proper functioning of markets and commercial relations, and protecting consumers
-
Sector development and business support, economic transitions, competitiveness, and business safeguarding
-
Employment policy (access to and return to employment, skills development, vocational training)
-
Social cohesion policies (protection of vulnerable people, combating exclusion)
-
Social and economic actions linked to urban policy
-
Inspection and oversight of social establishments and services
-
Training and certification of non-medical health and social professions
-
Social and professional integration
DRIEETS implements government policies at the interdepartmental level. As such, it is the point of contact for businesses, employees, associations, social partners, and local authorities. It conducts information, oversight, and support activities, ensures the protection of rights, and fosters market development. It also plays a role in initiatives that support professional integration, employment, and skills development.
The directorate is structured into four key divisions:
-
Business, Employment and Economy
-
Labour and Social Relations
-
Competition and Consumer Affairs
-
Social Cohesion and Solidarity
Note:
DRIEETS promotes the “Transitions Collectives” scheme, which provides State funding (or co-funding with companies) for training employees to transition into high-demand professions. Companies undergoing transformation can benefit from this support.
